The Uniforms
The German Afrikan-Korps army uniform was basically the same as the ones used in Europe except for the open necked collar. Each kind of cap and pants were made from olive green colored cotton but due to the strong hot sun, the color soon faded showing various color tones. Additionally, due to the cracking and breaking of the leather shoes and belts, they were soon replaced with canvas ones. As these uniforms and equipment for use in hot and tropical zones were superior in productivity, a great effort went into trying to fit the German Army throughout Europe during the middle stages of WWII.
This is a limited edition 1/48 scale plastic assembly kit depicting a scene of Field Marshall Rommel and his men at an African command post.
The set includes 8 figurines such as Field Marshall Rommel in discussion with an officer and non commissioned officer, wireless radio operator, as well as soldiers on guard duty.
Small firearms and personal equipment also have a detailed finish.
Accessories such as the tent, wooden crates, wireless radio and battery, jerry cans, and drums enrichen the diorama.
Displaying this diorama with other models such as the separately available Greif (32550) and Masterwork Collection Fieseler Fi156C Storch (61100) would definitely be enjoyable.
