The Bronco was the first sport-utility vehicle produced by the Ford Motor Company and quickly established itself as an icon in off-road circles. A long-distance off-road competition was established by racecar builder Bill Stoppe in 1965 when he assembled a team of first-generation Broncos that competed in the Mint 400, Baja 500 and the Mexican 1000 (later known as the Baja 1000).
Keeping that kind of full-scale pedigree in mind the Axial engineers went about developing the officially licensed Early Ford Bronco 4WD using the equally impressive SCX10 III platform. All stops have been pulled out in order to give you a boundary-pushing level of performance in ready-to-run scale crawler functions, performance and features. All the key components that have made the SCX10 III platform awesome have been included along with some never before seen added features. Not only is this a fantastic choice for beginner or experienced Rock Crawlers alike it is also one of the most scale detailed models that Axial have ever produced!
Even the most devoted Ford fans are going to be impressed by the unprecedented scale realism of the Axial SCX10 III Early Ford Bronco 4WD. The polycarbonate body construction has a moulded tube cage with practical tube doors and hidden body mounts to protect the Bronco’s scale lines.
The polycarbonate Bronco body has a moulded tube cage with functional tube doors and hidden body mounts to preserve the scale lines. Fender flares and rock sliders that are true to the era also provide essential rock rash protection. Other authentic exterior details include the hood scoop, license plates, windshield wipers, and LED headlights and taillights. Many scale features are also functional. The front and rear plate bumpers, for example, are placed at the optimal approach angle for unobstructed climbing and crawling. Axial hasn’t skimped on the interior detail of the SCX10 III Early Ford Bronco 4WD either. Inside the Bronco cab, you will find foot pedals, dashboard, moulded seats, shifter, and, a steering wheel with column. Pop the hood and you’ll see a transmission housing, a replica 5.0L V8 engine, and, a transfer case that conceals an impressive 35T Axial motor giving it added protection plus scale appearance.
Keeping your Bronco’s grip firmly on the ground is a retro-style 3-piece beadlock wheel system that suits the Early Ford Bronco’s body lines while allowing a glue-free easy mounting, removing and replacing process. To complement these wheels are licensed replica 1.9 Falken Wildpeak M/T tyres that give you superb grip on either rocks or trails. Mounting tabs on the roll cage allow you to fit a full function spare tyre and additional lights. To say the SCX10 III Early Ford Bronco 4WD has good bones is an understatement with the proven SCX10 III chassis underpinning everything and providing the function and toughness that Axial drivers have come to love. The front and rear AR45 Straight Axles on the Early Ford Bronco give you even more scale looks plus a lower centre of gravity. These axles work in conjunction with the triangulated suspension geometry tuned to reduce torque twist and are also scale appropriate. Drivers can tune the oil-filled shocks to help them achieve the best dampening rate while more fluid volume is achieved through increased bore size to ensure the best performance can be achieved.
To give you a tighter turning radius when you need it a third-channel Front Dig function transmission set up allows you to lock the rear axle from the transmitter. By moving the Micro Dig Servo to the two-speed linkage you can configure the SCX10 III Early Ford Bronco 4WD for two speeds with high and low gears. In order to use the Front Dig and two-speed transmission features you just need to add another servo and a transmitter with at least four channels like a 5-channel Spektrum DX5.
The fully assembled Axial SCX10 III Early Ford Bronco 4WD includes a DX3 Spektrum radio with DSMR technology giving the driver superb response, range and interference resistance. There is a 40A Spektrum Firma Smart ESC/receiver installed that is compatible with Smart telemetry capabilities. If you’re using a Spektrum Smart LiPo pack your transmitter can receive the remaining onboard voltage capacity from your battery allowing you to drive smarter and harder. Wet conditions are no problems for the Early Ford Bronco with the electronics protected by a waterproof design.
Combining the iconic Ford styling with proven Axial engineering the SCX10 III Early Ford Bronco 4WD gives you the driver the perfect vehicle for excelling in rough and rocky terrain. You just need to add your choice of battery and you’re away!
